Details

Clifton Creek Primary School, is a small rural school built in 1911 that was destroyed during the 2019/2020 East Gippsland bushfires.

After extensive community consultation it was rebuilt in 2021 to include an administration and learning building comprising two classrooms, a library, kitchen and food prep learning area, staff centre, sensory garden, community facilities and outdoor play and learning spaces.

Sustainable design was very important for this project which included rammed earth walls, passive ventilation and solar energy in the building design, along with spacious outdoor multi use spaces.

VE Furniture supplied Studiwell height adjustable tables in Dark Oak with Buzz chairs for the classrooms, Origami lounges with iDisc tables, rondo ottomans and bean bags for the library and Shinto desks with Rune chairs for the staff centre.

The spaces have a warm, soft, calming aesthetic that pays homage to the natural environment in which it resides, complemented by modern design elements and is surrounded by spacious outdoor spaces.
