A Cosy Hideaway You’ll Never Want to Leave!

Some study moments need a fuller sense of enclosure than an open seat can offer, and the Inform Portal Retreat is built for exactly that. It shares its footprint and sound-softening upholstered walls with the Portal Horizon, but adds an upholstered back, closing the seat to single-side access instead of two. That change turns the Retreat into a more private nook, suited to individual focus work or a quiet one-on-one conversation rather than a seat used from both directions.

An optional upgrade swaps the upholstered back for a writeable surface, turning the outward-facing side of the unit into an impromptu whiteboard. Positioned near a walkway or breakout corner, that upgrade lets a passing conversation turn into a quick brainstorm without booking a room. Like the Horizon, the Retreat is modular with the Inform 1800 Double Bookcase and pairs with Pebble or iDisc tables to build a popup breakout space wherever it's needed.
